Folks, Official release of Tizen 2.4 OS upgrade for Samsung Z1 users is  coming soon.
Please note when a Firmware Update Over the Air ( FOTA) push is given not all users receive it simultaneously ,it is done in batches as per server load.


To all our Z1 2.4 Beta testers:  Beta testers can just jump via FOTA from COL5 to the final version.

i have updated my device to 2.4 and binary is col5
what this means
after this also i will get any other update  binary col6

col5 is tha last update for 2.4 which was of 258.2 mb??

It will be later than COL5

I have upgraded my firmware to COL6 via KIES3, which has been withdrawn now. Do i need to do roll back to COL5.??( don't know possible or not)
OR
Will i get the final version on my COL6 via FOTA??

No,  Theme Store is not there in COL6.

@adfree, Z1 wont be supporting theme store, rather it will just have 2 additional themes preloaded.  This is due to memory constraint on Z1.

Is beauty mode (in camera) available in Z1 too after final update???

COL5 is the latest version that was made available to Beta testers.

As of now Application QA with Z1 2.4 release is being done. Wherever store QA team is finding problems developers of  third party applications are being informed and asked to update the apps.

As you can understand this is a time consuming process as dependency is on individual developers who have their own schedules and priorities.  However the final software release should happen with in Jan 2016 :-)


It seems you may need to wait for one more week and FOTA will not be on 22 Jan.
